Note from the author – The below article was originally written and published on January 4th, 2021. Investigations are now underway as to what happened to the National Guard that was requested by President Trump.
The United States Capitol is heavily protected on a normal day. In order to enter, there are magnetometers, and Capitol Police have security mandates including ID and bag checks.
When a joint session of Congress is in session, security is normally very heavy inside and outside the Capital. As the article written before the events of January 6th reflects, the officials in DC knew hundreds of thousands were coming to town on that day, and we now know, they had advance warnings of a potential attack.
The link to the website for the event “Wild Protest,” which gave the schedules and maps of the planned events, has since been taken down. The large staged event planned for 6 pm that evening included dozens of speakers, including state representatives and Senators from several states. It was canceled as the Mayor of DC put on a curfew after the terrible attack on the capital.
National Guard Approved to Assist in DC Jan 6

The Mayor of Washington DC Muriel Bowser is anticipating massive crowds for the Trump rallies on January 5 – 7, 2021. She announced that the National Guard has been called in to assist.
Washington DC Metropolitan Police Chief Conteee welcomes the assistance of the National Guard. “They will be deployed to assist us with crowd management, as well as traffic control in our nation’s capital,” Chief Contee said. “That will allow for the police officers to focus on anyone whose intent on instigating, agitating, or participating in violence in our city.”
Hundreds of thousands of Trump supporters are expected in Washington DC on January 5-7, 2021 as January 6th Trump has called a “Wild Protest!”
Events January 5 – 7 Expect HUGE Crowds
The “Wild Protest,” as President Trump has called it, has people descending onto Washington DC from all over the nation. Hotels are sold out, flights booked, masses of busses planned and caravans of Trump flags fill the highways from all corners of the country.
President Trump announced he will be in attendance. It will definitely be wild!
On January 5th, 1 pm at Freedom Plaza will be the first event.
On January 6th at the Elipse near the White House Ellipse, an event will take place at 9 am.
From 1 pm – 5 pm on January 6th will be the main rally around the capitol, and another at 6 pm on the other side of the Capitol Building near the Supreme Court.
January 6th, 2021 is the significant day that the joint session of Congress meets in the capital to vote on, or object to, the electors from each state to determine the Presidency of the United States. Seven states have sent an alternate set of electors by the state legislators. The legislators in Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin, and New Mexico have declared they do not have confidence in the vote in their state and do not believe it should be certified. They are asking Congress for more time so they can address the issues.
What happens in the capital on January 6th can determine the election. President Trump has called in the masses of his supporters to rally and pray.
The speaker lineup is massive including several State Representatives and Senators from the contested states, ministers, and even one of our favorites, Lance Wallnau.
If you plan to attend, take a backpack, bottled water, and snacks. The crowds will be large and movement around different venues will take patience. For seated events, please arrive a few hours early in order to get inside.
